Lance Geoffrey Rye died peacefully in Epsom Hospital on 25th March 2022 with his wife Valerie and son Jeremy at his side. A proud pupil of King’s College Junior School 1948-53 and Kings College School 1953-56, he was also an accomplished member and player of the Old King’s Golfing Society. He had a passion for all sports but particularly golf, it was an interest he carried with him his entire life, even asking for the Cheltenham Cup horse racing results up to the end.
He faced his many health issues with openness, courage and humour, as he did with all life. He will be remembered by all for his kindness and a certain mischievous quality that even people that met him only once warmed to.
