Douglas Keel (OK 1966)

Douglas Vincent Keel, aged 77, died on Tuesday, 3rd February 2026 at home in London. He was born on Monday, 13th September 1948, son of the late Reginald and Margery Keel. His only brother, Peter, died tragically in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Dianna.

Douglas was awarded a full scholarship to read math and physics at Keble College, Oxford. In his career, he first qualified as a chartered accountant and then qualified and practiced as an international tax barrister. Douglas enjoyed frequent travel, throughout the northern hemisphere, both for work and for pleasure.

His friends and colleagues have repeatedly mentioned his smile, his gentle sense of humour and his loyalty. Douglas wore his intellectual discipline lightly and with charm. A warm and generous spirit and a consummate, dedicated professional in all he did, Douglas was very much a one-off.
