Demonstrating extraordinary dedication and talent, King’s athletes returned with an impressive total of fifteen gold medals across three major events. At the Home International Rowing Regatta, held earlier this summer, four King’s students—Callum G (L6M1), Ben H (U6G1), Ben VB (U6Mac1) and Felix (U6Mac2)—competed for Team England. Their outstanding performances helped secure gold medals in five events, contributing significantly to the nation's overall success at the event. Callum brought home three gold medals, while Ben, Ben and Felix won two two medals each.
Further triumphs followed at the Coupe de la Jeunesse, widely regarded as the European Championships for junior rowers. Representing Great Britain, Seb S (L6K2) and Alex H (U5K2) delivered commanding performances in the Men's Eight, claiming gold medals in two events for their country.
Capping off a remarkable summer, Ivo (U6M1) and Alastair (U6K2) represented Great Britain at the World Rowing U19 Championships, where they also competed in the Men’s Eight. Their crew delivered a dominant performance to secure gold, marking the pinnacle of a highly successful international season.
In total, King’s rowers brought home a record-breaking:
9 gold medals at the Home International Regatta
4 gold medals at the Coupe de la Jeunesse
2 gold medals at the World Rowing U19 Championships
These results underscore not only the strength and depth of rowing at King’s, but also the commitment, discipline and skill of the individuals who continue to achieve at the highest level of junior rowing.
