Pablo Lloyd OBE’s journey to King’s began when he was awarded a Surrey Scholarship, opening the door to opportunities that would shape both his career and his commitment to social impact. Leaving the school in 1978, he developed a strong grounding in mathematics, problem-solving and leadership, alongside a growing belief that education has the power to transform lives and unlock potential. His experiences at King’s instilled an ambition not only to succeed professionally, but also to create opportunities for others.

After graduating in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, Pablo qualified as a Chartered Accountant before building a distinguished career spanning the private, public and charitable sectors. He became a pioneer in educational innovation, helping to found organisations that have enabled millions of people to access learning, skills development and entrepreneurial opportunities. As a founder, chief executive and adviser, he has championed programmes that support young people in developing the confidence and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. He now supports Unloc, the youth development organisation, and writes and speaks on business ethics. In recognition of his services to young people’s education, he was awarded an OBE in 2019.

Reflecting on the opportunities that helped shape his own life, Pablo remains a passionate advocate for widening access to education and ensuring that talent is never limited by circumstance. As a former Surrey Scholar, he understands the profound difference that financial support can make to a young person’s future. He believes that investing in potential creates benefits that extend far beyond the individual, strengthening communities and society as a whole. For Pablo, enabling more young people to access an exceptional education is one of the most powerful ways to create lasting change and a legacy that will endure for generations.
