| Our Impact, Our Community |
Last Saturday, we were delighted to welcome 150 parents, alumni , staff and friends to a summer garden party in the marquee. The afternoon was an opportunity to bring together the many people who make such a difference to school life, to thank them for their support, and to reflect on the remarkable impact their generosity has had on pupils over the past year. Set against a backdrop of sunshine, the event celebrated our volunteers, whose time, expertise and enthusiasm enrich the King’s experience in countless ways. From the Friends of King’s, who organise exceptional events such as the Summer Gala and Christmas Fair, to the speakers and panellists who contribute to our Sector Networking and Knowledge Network evenings, we are fortunate to have such a committed community helping to further the important work of the school.
The garden party also recognised the generosity of our donors, whose support is helping transform opportunities for young people. We celebrated contributions to projects including the Friends of King’s Cricket Pavilion Refurbishment Project, and the recently established King’s College School Bursaries Foundation. The Foundation represents an important step on our journey towards becoming a fully need-blind school, opening our doors wider to talented pupils from across southwest London.
Guests also heard highlights from the year, made possible by the collective support of our community: £1,231,854 raised from 458 individual donors, with one in four current parents and one in fifteen alumni making a gift to King’s. Thanks to this generosity, 70 pupils have benefited from bursary support this year, with 68% receiving a 100% or 110% bursary.
Together, our community is investing in potential, changing lives through education, and helping to create a King’s for our third century.
