The Old King's Reunion in June welcomed more than 240 alumni, former staff and guests back to King’s for our first all-alumni reunion in its new format. It was a pleasure to see so many members of the King’s community reconnecting, sharing memories and forging new friendships. The presence of a large number of former staff made the occasion especially meaningful, adding a wonderful sense of continuity and connection across generations.
Guests were welcomed by Dr Anne Cotton, who shared updates from across the school, followed by remarks from Alexander Malmaeus, Chairman of the Old King's Club Committee. Antony Berry, Director of Development, also spoke about the King's College School Bursaries Foundation and the school's ambitious vision to become fully need-blind, ensuring that any academically talented child can benefit from a King’s education, regardless of their financial circumstances. The celebrations were enhanced by musical performances from current pupils and the newly formed Alumni Jazz Band.
The day offered a wide range of activities, reflecting the richness of the King’s community. Alumni explored archive exhibitions celebrating the Art Society Press and Film Society, while a friendly cricket match between Old King's and current pupils saw the Old King's claim victory by 12 runs, with Adam Fox (OK 2025) scoring an impressive century. Many guests also took the opportunity to revisit their school days through tours led by current pupils, discovering how the school has evolved over the years.
From alumni who left King’s more than 70 years ago to the Class of 2025, the reunion brought together generations of Old King's in a vibrant celebration of community, shared history and lifelong connection. The school was buzzing with activity throughout the day, creating a memorable occasion for all who attended.
