Make A Difference Day (MADD) took place on October 11th, focusing on the theme of ‘Health and Hope’ to benefit Cancer UK. This annual event encourages students to engage with social issues through various activities and fundraising efforts.
Participants enjoyed a ‘wear your own clothes day’, contributing £2 each, while engaging in workshops and talks. Lower school students learned first aid, and older students heard about robotic surgery from Professor Prasanna Sooriakuruman. Presentations also featured the St Giles Trust and Anthony Nolan Charity, leading to 112 sixth formers signing up for the stem cell donation register.
Throughout the day, students participated in fun activities like a penalty shootout, touch rugby, and karaoke, while the Midnight Marathon walkers set off to raise funds for charity. The event concluded with a successful food drive for City Harvest, showcasing the King’s community’s generosity.
Overall, MADD 2024 was an uplifting day, inspiring students to recognise their potential to make a positive impact in the world.
